Got an extra few days to tack on another incredible experience full of Spanish charm, culture, architecture, and nightlife?  Take a 4-day / 3-night extension trip to Madrid, the largest city in Spain - just a few hours by train from Barcelona!  We've crafted a self-guided extension to our Spanish adventure that will enable you to experience all that this city has to offer.  Explore the city with a local gay guide, indulge in the vibrant nightlife, shop til you drop, or just get lost in the beauty of this impressive city.

Itinerary

Day 1

Check out of our hotel in Sitges on the final day of your group trip and jump on the high-speed train to Madrid via Barcelona.  Your 3-4 hour journey zips through the heart of Spain before arriving to Atocha Station in downtown Madrid where you'll be picked up by a private transfer to your accommodation at Room Mate Oscar Hotel, right in the middle of our favorite neighborhood in central Madrid - Chueca.

Feel free to explore the Chueca neighborhood, well known as one of the most popular gay neighborhoods in the world and only minutes from the most popular attractions in the city.  Restaurants, shopping, and nightlife surround you making this an ideal home-base during your time in Madrid.

Day 2

Start your day with breakfast at your hotel before meeting your local guide for a private walking tour around the highlights of Madrid!  Your 3-hour tour around the city includes stops at  the Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral, Plaza de Oriente or the Royal Theatre, palaces from the 16th and 17th centuries, and the most beautiful and iconic streets and squares around the city.  Your local gay guide will include bits of gay history and advice on gay nightlife for your visit as well.

Take the afternoon to explore more of the city or enter into some of the many museums or attractions on offer around the city.

Day 3

Take this day to relax and soak in the past couple weeks of experiences you've just been a part of while sipping a drink by the rooftop pool.  That, or keep it going right til the end of taking part in some of the area's other treasures.  To help you get around we've included a full-day hop-on-hop-off bus pass.  Use it to easily visit the Prado Museum, Paseo del Arte, Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and many more stops - or just use it to cruise around the city learning along the way using the provided audio commentary.

We encourage you to spend your evening checking out the fantastic cuisine and nightlife surrounding you in the Chueca area on your final night in this beautiful country.

Day 4

In enough time to catch your outbound flight, you'll be transferred to the Madrid airport in a private vehicle, full of endless stories of your adventure of a lifetime.
