Explore the cities of Helsinki and Tallinn including gorgeous 5-star accommodation right in the middle of downtown Helsinki, as well as a sauna experience, guided city tours, and more.

Itinerary

Day 1

Check out of our hotel in Stockholm on the final day of your group trip and jump on the overnight cruise to Helsinki. This is a comfortable trip in an "A-class cabin" aboard the Silja Line, with several restaurants, shops, a spa, and beautiful views to enjoy along your Baltic Sea voyage (more info). A quick flight from Stockholm to Helsinki is available as an alternative. Your overnight journey crosses the Baltic Sea before arriving to downtown Helsinki the following morning.

Day 2

You'll arrive into the beautiful sea-side city of Helsinki in the mid-morning, where you'll be picked up by a private transfer to your accommodation at Hotel Haven, right in the middle of our favorite neighborhood in central Helsinki. Feel free to explore downtown Helsinki, well known as one of the safest most liberal cities in the world and only minutes from the most popular attractions in the city. Restaurants, shopping, bars, and attractions surround you making this an ideal home-base.

This afternoon or evening, take a walk down to the famous Löyly Sauna to experience a real Finnish sauna - entrance is included in this extension package. Soak in the sweeping views as you relax in the traditional smoke and wood-burning saunas and, if you're brave, take a dip in the "refreshing" sea right there next to the sauna.

Day 3

Wake up this morning with a fabulous breakfast at your hotel before joining a small-group walking tour of Helsinki's central district. Experience the Finnish capital through the eyes of a local, witness day-to-day life unfold at the bustling markets, parks, and in the sea, and step inside the strikingly modern Central Library Oodi. Your tour with a local Finnish guide takes approximately 2.5 hours, leaving you the remainder of this day to spend more time at any of the spots touched on the tour, or explore new ones - there's plenty to find and explore around the city.

We encourage you to spend your evening checking out the fantastic cuisine and nightlife surrounding you in central Helsinki before heading out for your day trip to Estonia the following day.

Day 4

Today you'll check another country off your bucket list - Estonia! More specifically, the beautiful capital city of Tallinn. It's an easy and beautiful 2 hour cruise from Helsinki to Tallinn which you'll board after breakfast this morning. On arrival to the medieval city of Tallinn, you'll join a 2-hour walking tour of the unique old town with a local guide. You’ll explore the Unesco World Heritage site from the bustling main streets to less known side alleys, including the beautiful old churches, unique merchant houses, the historic town hall, and imposing city defenses. Most of your walk will be centered in the Toompea area of Old Town where you'll take a look at the Parliament Building (Toompea Palace) and visit the picturesque viewing platforms.

In the afternoon, you'll jump back on the ferry to Helsinki for your final night in the modern city before wrapping up your Scandinavian adventure.

Day 5
