I just returned from an incredible 10-day trip to Japan with Detours Travel Inc., and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Our itinerary included Tokyo, Nagano, Kyoto, and Osaka, led by our fantastic group leader, Ollie.
We were fortunate to visit during Cherry Blossom Season, which made the trip even more memorable. The Hanami festivals, street food, and spring atmosphere brought an added layer of charm to each destination.
The tour struck a great balance between scheduled activities and optional events, allowing plenty of flexibility for personal exploration. Accommodations were thoughtfully selected—comfortable, well-located, and always convenient to transit and local attractions.
Our group consisted of 12 travelers, a mix of couples and solo adventurers, which created a friendly and engaging dynamic. As always, Detours excelled at managing group logistics and thoughtfully arranged unique experiences for those interested in going off the beaten path.
Highly recommend Detours Travel for anyone seeking a well-curated, community-oriented adventure abroad!

I’ve traveled to New Zealand and Central Europe with Detours, and both trips were amazing. The trip leaders—Chase in NZ and Brandon in Europe—were super friendly and really engaged with everyone in the group. They kept things fun and upbeat while also sharing cool local insights that made the experience feel special.
The accommodations were great with a nice mix of planned activities and free time. The walking tours and local experiences made it feel like I was actually living a bit of the local life, not just checking off tourist spots.
As a vegetarian, I was especially impressed by the variety of delicious meals available—many of which I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. The Detours team was also really quick to respond to any questions, both before and during the trip. I’ve loved meeting different people here and hope to continue making friends on future trips.

We’ve travelled all over the world for the past thirty years and have slowly homed in on what we now look for. Gone are the days of. Cruising with 5,000 gay men. We now enjoy small ships of 150 to 200 men. In this case, we looked for a small group of men (between 8 and 16) lead by a knowledgeable tour guide who anticipates problems and is capable of responding appropriately. Thaddeus Eng was just such a person. He is young, energetic, multi-lingual, and loves travel and learning new things. His choices of local guides were spot on as well. All in all, the experience was well worth our time and money. I recommend Detours for your gay world travels.
