This was truly an amazing trip all around. I didn't know what to expect as it was a first for me, being single on a group tour, but it certainly exceeding all my expectations. Every detail was covered and the only surprises where pleasant ones. To say that our guide Ollie was truly amazing is an understatement. Having someone like Ollie available throughout the entire trip to deal with anything was very comforting especially being in countries that I never have before. Ollie was instrumental in making this such a fantastic trip for me. I've already booked my next Detours Tour for 2025 which will be one of many to come for me. Detours Travel gave me the trip of a lifetime and one of the best weeks of my life in a castle in Italy! I booked this trip for the first time a little less than a year ago based on raving reviews from a friend of mine and Detours lived up to the reviews and then some. Every single detail gets thought through meticulously, leaving me to focus on nothing but relaxing and enjoying the sites. Optional lead tours are available at times, if you choose and each day has the perfect balance of planned activities that you can opt in or out of. I was able to pay for my trip in installments which made financial sense, and any time I had any issue or change needed, a quick email did the trick with no work needed on my end. Travel to and from the destinations are all planned ahead, and trip leaders are knowledgeable, friendly and create an inclusive environment to ensure everyone feels welcome and like friends. I was thoroughly delighted with my most recent detours trip. I went on a previous adventure with Detours and I found it to be so relaxing and rewarding that I booked another trip. And this most recent trip was even more fantastic than the previous one. We had a great trip leader Ollie, who made sure that we were well taken care of throughout the adventure. We are so grateful that we found Detours online when looking for travel options. We recently took a tour through Italy and it felt like first class all the way but for a very reasonable price. Everyone from the initial communication with Maurice in the office who handled our bookings and questions to our interactions with our tour leaders Scott and Miles was top notch. They even helped arrange a last minute cooking class for us which was above and beyond. As I’m sitting in my he Madrid terminal heading back home after my third and equally fabulous trip to Spain. Clay was our trip leader and he is GREAT. He made sure we were all taken care of for any of our needs. He is extremely knowledgeable about Spain and each location had something to experience. We even went to a working olive farm, José, the owner of the farm toured us through the farm. We ended at his home where we met his family who served us a delicious meal. If you’ve never done a Detours trip you’re missing out on a trip of a lifetime. So far I’ve toured Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Spain. While Clay is an amazing leader, the other leaders are equally amazing. Miles, the owner, is easy going and super nice. Book a trip without hesitation and you too will be a return traveler.

I can't say enough good things about Detours Travel! Every aspect from the pre-trip communications through to the last group dinner was first rate. Our trip leader, Brandon, was outstanding! Very personable, knowledgeable, and highly organized. I especially like that Detours limits the group size to 16. So you get to know and bond easily with a group of like-minded travelers. We have already booked our next Detours adventure and can't wait to join them again!

I completed my first Detours trip to South Africa and I'm still in amazement of the experience. South Africa is amazing and so is Detours. Anytime we had a question, Miles or his team was quick to answer and assist in anyway they could. Our trip leader Darren was a complete joy who took the time getting to know each of us and helping us bond. This is the first time I've connected with my tour group and want to stay in touch with them. Several of us are planning future trips together. If you want an amazing experience and do something more than just seeing the sights, do a Detours tour. I'm so excited I took the chance and now part of the Detours family. Detours builds community on their trips so it feels like a bunch of friends decided to go on holiday together.

I have never traveled with a group of 16 Gay Men of various backgrounds, interests; to be very honest this was an "out of the box" moment for me which caused much anxiety going in.

From the moment I arrived in Athens a day early I reached out via What's App to see who was in town, hooked up with 3 guys in a few hours and the adventure began.

Our Leader Brandon who was in contact with us as soon as we began the adventure and continued to check on all the group several times either in person or on line, everyday this man is on top of everything!
He instantly wins everyone over with his amazing energetic, positive, humorous, welcoming, kind, warm, personality he knows his business inside and out nothing stumps him he always comes thru even after hours.

Any of my friends knows I am a tough demanding customer with high standards.
I can honestly say all were met no complaints whatsoever ever I would go on another Detours adventure for sure maybe only travel this way from now on

Two more things I will share:

1/ I had a little incident with an ATV vehicle no injury to me whatsoever Brandon managed me and was the go between with vendor keeping me informed with calming grace and figuring all out.

2/ before reaching our last destination Brandon shared there was problem with my room but assured me it would be handled as it was; when we reached hotel the management was amazing laid out the options which I agreed to - Amazing Property & Service.

That is it...... having a tough time..... without Detours & Brandon getting thru may days without their guidance
